# Athletics: South Africa’s Zakithi Nene qualified for the final of the men’s 400-metres at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. He won his heat in the fifth-fastest time, while compatriot Lythe Pillay‘s time was too slow. Three athletes from Botswana will run in the title race, with Busang Kebinatshipi posting the world-leading time of 43.61-seconds in his heat. He will be joined by compatriots Bayapo Ndori and Lee Eppie. Among the other finalists are Jamaika’s Rusheen McDonald, American Jacory Patterson and local athlete Yuki Nakajima.
