Business Leadership SA says small businesses are being let down by government’s irrational policymaking

# Business Leadership South Africa says last week brought both progress and setbacks for small businesses. Employment and Labour minister Nomakhosazana Meth introduced new dismissal codes, making it easier and cheaper for small companies to manage underperforming employees. However, Trade, Industry and Competition minister Parks Tau unexpectedly withdrew proposed credit regulation reforms that would have helped small businesses access loans. In her weekly newsletter, CEO Busi Mavuso warns such inconsistent policy decisions undermine business-government cooperation, threaten economic growth, and put entrepreneurs’ livelihoods at risk.
