Health Department expected to respond on Tobacco Control Bill issues

# The Portfolio Committee on Health will call the Department of Health to respond to issues raised during virtual public hearings on the Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery System Control Bill. Chairperson Sibongiseni Dhlomo confirmed diverse views emerged, with supporters praising the bill for closing regulatory loopholes and protecting public health. Meanwhile, critics argued it unfairly equates electronic delivery systems with tobacco. Concerns about illicit trade and enforcement were also raised due to display bans.
