Multiple workers dead after ‘tensioning operation’ causes bridge in China to collapse

# At least 12 people are dead, and four others are missing, after a railway bridge that was under construction in China collapsed. According to the Xinhua News Agency, 16 workers were on the bridge in Qinghai province when a steel cable snapped during a “tensioning operation”. Aerial photos show a large section missing from the bridge’s curved aquamarine arch, while a bent portion of the bridge deck hangs downward. The China Daily reports 27 boats, a helicopter, and five robots are being used to search for the missing workers, along with over 800 personnel and 91 vehicles.
