# Cricket: Former Finance minister Trevor Manuel has been appointed chair of the 15-member Local Organising Committee Board for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The tournament will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia as the first ODI World Cup in the region since 2003. Amongst the board members are Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Ravi Naidoo, and Johannes Adams. Manuel has described the tournament as a nation-building exercise, with 44 matches set for South Africa and 10 for Zimbabwe and Namibia.
