WWF SA calls for responsible transition minerals industry

# The World Wide Fund for Nature South Africa says sustainable development of the transition minerals industry must feature on the G20 agenda this year. According to the World Bank, global demand for minerals like lithium, cobalt and graphite is set to rise 500-percent by 2050. WWF SA urges African countries to avoid repeating exploitative mining patterns by embracing circular economies, stronger environmental safeguards, and stricter labour protections to ensure responsible growth.
