# Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has made an impassioned call for US President Donald Trump to intervene to put an end to the fighting in Gaza. In a video address on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Sisi said Trump is the one capable of stopping the war, bringing in aid and ending the suffering. The US president earlier said that a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which mediation by the US, Egypt and Qatar has so far failed to secure, was “possible”.
