# The UK has announced reforms to its Developing Countries Trading Scheme to boost exports from African nations and strengthen economic ties. The revised scheme simplifies rules of origin and grants zero or reduced tariffs on thousands of goods. UK Development minister, Jenny Chapman, says developing nations want trade, not aid. The reforms, covering 65 countries, include support to meet UK standards and enable service exports. Last year, African exports to the UK were valued at 67-billion-rand.
