# The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa Gender Structure is calling on its members and staff in all regions to make donations to victims of last month’s deadly Eastern Cape floods. The floods claimed 103 lives in Mthatha and Butterworth, with six-thousand-869 households affected and four-thousand-724 people still homeless. Numsa’s spokesperson, Phakamile Hlubi-Majola, says some of the items being requested include clothes, shoes, tinned food and dry goods, and sanitary items:
