# SANParks will begin a phased reopening of trails in Tokai and Silvermine within Table Mountain National Park, near Cape Town, from 1 July following the April fire that affected two-thousand-800 hectares. Silvermine Gate 2 and Upper Tokai will reopen, excluding Level 4 and 5 trails. Silvermine Gate 1, including the dam and Riverwalk, remains closed until later in the year. SANParks urges public cooperation for safety and restoration, and will launch a Safe Hiking Campaign to support the reopening process.
