BOSA demands urgent action as SAPS face 2,344 detective shortage

# Build One South Africa has demanded an urgent audit of policing capacity after Police minister Senzo Mchunu revealed a shortage of two-thousand-344 detectives nationwide. BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane says this gap is fueling crime, with cases going cold and criminals walking free. The Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal are worst affected. He is calling for immediate recruitment, better resources, and a public system to track case backlogs and ensure accountability.
