NUM launches 18th Elective Congress targeting various sector concerns [SOUND]

# The National Union of Mineworkers has kicked off its 18th National Elective Congress in Boksburg, Gauteng. Delegates will tackle challenges facing workers in mining, construction, energy and metal sectors. NUM president Daniel Balepile says key concerns include job security, subcontracting, as well as health and safety. He emphasised that the three-day congress is crucial for shaping policy and protecting workers while growing the organisation as it ventures into the metal sector:
