# A total of 15-thousand-481 suspects were arrested for various offences during Operation Shanela across the country in a week. Police spokesperson, Amanda van Wyk says among these are 255 suspects arrested for rape, with the highest number of arrests with 116 recorded in KwaZulu-Natal. She says these arrests reaffirm the police’s unwavering commitment to tackling gender-based violence, femicide and sexual offences:
