Speaking ahead of the 15th Annual Thabo Mbeki Africa Day Lecture in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Mbeki emphasised the transformative potential of Africa’s oceans economy. He highlighted that sustainable utilisation of marine resources could drive economic growth, create jobs, and enhance food security, critical for Africa’s future:
