Athletics: Simbine anchors SA to fastest 4x100m time of 2025

# Athletics: South Africa relay teams had a field day at the World Relay Championships in Guangzhou, China, with four South African teams qualifying for the finals today. A faultless display of running and baton changeovers saw the 4-by-100-metre sprinters Bayanda Walaza, Sinesipho Dambile, Bradley Nkoana and Akani Simbine clock a world leading 37.84 seconds and head to the final as the fastest qualifiers. The men’s 4-by-400-metre squad are also favourites after putting up the fastest time of the year. The women and the mixed 4-by-400-metre teams also qualified.
