Tshwane residents urged to get the flu vaccine for the upcoming influenza season

# The City of Tshwane is urging residents to get vaccinated against the influenza virus ahead of the winter season. Influenza spreads mainly through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. Those at high risk of severe influenza are adults aged 65 years and older, people with underlying illnesses such as heart and lung disease, and people living with HIV and tuberculosis. The metro says the influenza vaccine is available free of charge at public clinics on a first-come, first-served basis for those in the high-risk categories.
