# The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has warned that new tariffs imposed by major economies could harm global growth and affect vulnerable countries. UNCTAD secretary-general, Rebeca Grynspan, emphasised that trade must not become another source of instability, however, it should encourage global growth and development. The organisation urges dialogue and negotiation to address trade imbalances without penalising vulnerable countries.
