# The Department of Basic Education in collaboration with the Department of Employment and Labour is implementing the job opportunities for youth through the Basic Education Employment Initiative Phase 5, targeting a start date of June this year. The initiative is an integral part of the Presidential Employment Stimulus. The Implementation of Phase 5 is supported by the Industrial Development Corporation as the implementing agent to disburse stipends to beneficiaries. The department says phase 5’s target is more than 200-thousand job opportunities for youth across the nine provinces.
