New York mayor Eric Adams’ criminal case dismissed

# A Manhattan federal judge has permanently dismissed the criminal case against New York City mayor Eric Adams with prejudice. He was indicted in September last year on charges related to bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals in exchange for political favours. Judge Dale Ho said his decision to drop the case permanently ensures that the Trump administration cannot use the indictment as leverage over Adams or the city of New York. The Justice Department called the case an example of political weaponisation.
