# XA Global Trade Advisors managing director, Donald MacKay, is urging stakeholders in South Africa’s steel sector to respond to the International Trade Administration Commission’s review of the steel tariff structure before the 16 April deadline. Speaking to Engineering News, MacKay says the review covers 609 tariff codes governing 67-billion-rand in annual imports. MacKay emphasised that this could lead to new import restrictions, rebates, or price controls. He warns that failure to participate may limit the ability to challenge outcomes.
