Cosatu welcomes proclamation of the Climate Change Act [SOUND]

# The Congress of South African Trade Unions has welcomed president Cyril Ramaphosa’s promulgation into law of the Climate Change Act. The Act is a statutory framework for climate adaptation and mitigation, indicating how the country will be moving to tackle climate change and transition towards a more sustainable, low-carbon economy. Cosatu’s spokesperson, Matthew Parks, says one of the provisions of the Act is the establishment of the Presidential Climate Change Commission, which will help guide South Africa’s climate change responses:
