Nations fail to agree on UN climate report timeline

# At a meeting of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, nations failed to break a deadlock over the timing of the United Nations next climate change science assessment. Most governments were in favour of the IPCC’s proposal to conclude the scientific review process by August 2028. However, China, Saudi Arabia and India strongly pushed back against the timeline, while South Africa and Kenya asked for further discussions to bridge concerns over the inclusivity of the process.
