# The GOOD Party is calling on the National Treasury to resist the temptation to throw out progressive provisions in the budget that weren’t with the two-percent value-added tax increase bathwater. A special cabinet meeting is scheduled for today, where members of the executive will discuss the postponement of the budget to March 12, over the disputed proposal to hike VAT. GOOD’s secretary-general, Brett Herron, says commitments in the aborted budget to raise living standards and improve long-term economic prospects must be retained:
