Russia and Ukraine report cyberattack incidents affecting their emergency alert mobile applications

# Russia and Ukraine have reported that their emergency alert mobile applications have been hit by cyberattacks. The Ukrainian Air Force stated that the country’s aid raid alert app, used to warn people of the threat of airstrikes, had been hacked. An erroneous message on the app showed Kyiv and other areas ‌subject to nuclear ‌and chemical alerts. Hours later, Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said its mobile application, designed to warn people of incoming drone attacks, had been hit by a “massive” cyberattack, which allowed attackers to send false information to the public.
