# Forum for South Africa has welcomed progress in Home Affairs’ digital services rollout. This follows the announcement that more than one million South Africans have used the bank-based service channel to obtain smart ID cards in just over seven months. According to the department, the system is currently available at 669 participating bank branches nationwide.
