North Korea warns soldiers to act if South threatens their safety

# North Korea has ordered its border troops to take “prompt and resolute action” if South Korean forces threaten their safety, raising the risk of a clash along the heavily armed frontier. The warning follows a visit by senior military official Pak Jong Chon and leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, to border fortifications. Kim says new weapons have taken up firing positions. Seoul says its warning shots and broadcasts are defensive measures, following border incidents and a mine blast that injured South Korean soldiers.
