# DA Eastern Cape leader Andrew Whitfield says the party has set aside funds to support campaigns by four additional mayoral candidates in municipalities where the ANC failed to submit candidate lists. The candidates are contesting Sundays River Valley, Walter Sisulu, Port St Johns and Ingquza Hill. Whitfield says the mayoral candidates outlined their pledges including improving basic services, strengthening municipal finances, fighting corruption and creating economic opportunities. Their appointment brings the party’s Eastern Cape mayoral candidates to ten.
