Western Cape strengthens artisan training partnership

# The Western Cape Department of Infrastructure has signed a five-year collaboration agreement with Africa Skills Village to strengthen artisan training and infrastructure delivery. The partnership will focus on rural districts, small towns and peri-urban areas where accredited training is limited. It will provide workplace exposure, internships, occupational training and recognised qualification pathways. Provincial Infrastructure MEC, Tertuis Simmers, says the initiative aims to bring training closer to communities, create economic opportunities and build skills needed to maintain public infrastructure.
