# The South African Reserve Bank has appointed economist Franz Ruch as an adviser to its governors and the seventh member of the Monetary Policy Committee. It says in a statement he brings vast monetary policy to the position, returning from a postition at the World Bank where he served as senior economist. Ruch led research, technical analysis and writing for publications, most notably the Global Economic Prospects Report. The latest appointment brings the MPC to full capacity for the first time since 2018.
