# Soccer: Botswana has withdrawn from the joint bid with South Africa and Zimbabwe to host the 2028 Africa Cup of Nations. South Africa and Zimbabwe submitted the required documents before the September 14 deadline. Botswana had previously expressed interest in hosting next year’s AFCON before it was awarded to the joint bid from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
