# The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment says the temporary precautionary measure limiting sardine fishing will be reviewed this week. The measure, introduced after reports of sardine deaths along the northern Wild Coast, remains in place until Friday. Scientists will consider the latest reports, laboratory findings and fishing data before advising on the way forward. The department says no further mortalities have been reported since 10 September, but monitoring continues while scientists investigate the possible role of pilchard herpesvirus.
