The latest crime statistics show that three-thousand-811 hijackings were recorded between April and June, which is about 42 a day. Gauteng accounted for nearly 58-percent of the cases. The organisation’s Ruan Vermaak advises motorists to stay alert, have a safety plan and avoid resisting if confronted by hijackers. Vermaak also warns drivers not to go home if they suspect they are being followed.
