# Tennis: Italian Jannik Sinner has announced a demanding schedule to end the year as world number one. Alexander Zverev of Germany closed the gap on him when winning the US Open, as a knee problem kept Sinner out of the entire North American hard court swing. He became number one again in April, winning Wimbledon in July to take his Grand Slam title tally to five.
