Minister Chikunga calls for increased police visibility in public spaces [SOUND]

# Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, has urged communities to reject the normalisation of violence against women. She says reported incidents, including the murder of four women in Kempton Park and the mugging of a woman in Centurion Rooihuiskraal while returning from the gym, highlight the growing safety concerns facing women using public spaces. Department spokesperson Cassius Selala says minister Chikunga has called on law-enforcement agencies to take visible steps to improve safety in public spaces:
