# Parliament’s impeachment committee rescinded its nomination of advocate Thandazani Madonsela as evidence leader. The committee is set to investigate president Cyril Ramaphosa over the Phala Phala saga. The ANC and the Patriotic Alliance’s representatives argued there was a perception Madonsela was biased, as Ramaphosa said earlier, while other parties opposed the proposal. The motion was carried 18 votes to nine. The secretary to Parliament appoints the evidence leader after the committee’s nomination.
