# The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has heard that North West businessman Brown Mogotsi allegedly planned to escape from court cells last week to evade trial. Opposing his fourth bail application, the state says information received on August 20 indicated Mogotsi intended disguising himself as a correctional officer and walking out of the cells. Officials reportedly arranged surveillance at the court after receiving the warning. Meanwhile, the defence says the bail application is based on facts that his wife has moved to a new, verifiable address where he will reside if granted bail.
