Education Department launches first comfort room for TVET students

# Higher Education and Training deputy minister Nomusa Dube-Ncube is leading the launch of Higher Health’s first Comfort Room at Ekurhuleni East TVET College’s Springs Campus. The initiative, run by the non-profit organisation Higher Health, will provide students with a safe, accessible space for mental health support, gender-based violence, HIV services, discrimination concerns and other psychosocial challenges. It will bring together education, peer support, early identification, referrals and healing. The launch also recognises students who have completed Higher Health’s one-day Civic Education Programme, supporting broader student wellbeing.
