Parliamentary committee reaffirms meaningful public participation on Special Pensions Amendment Bill [SOUND]

# Parliament’s standing committee on Finance reaffirmed its consideration of the Special Pensions Amendment Bill will be guided by meaningful public participation. Chairperson Mkhacani Maswanganyi says it will also have to carefully assess liberation struggle veterans and other stakeholders’ concerns. He says these centre on whether the existing Special Pensions framework was too restrictive and excluded people whose contribution to the liberation struggle did not fit neatly within its original rules:
