# Iran says the agreement with Oman to manage the Strait of Hormuz will not be enough to reopen the vital waterway, unless the US meets a list of conditions. These include an end to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports, withdrawing military forces from Tehran’s vicinity and permanently ending the war. Normally, one-fifth of global crude oil flows through the Strait. Iran’s Foreign minister Abbas Araghchi says as long as the US has not addressed its violations of the memorandum of understanding, they see no possibility of restarting negotiations.
