# The High Court in Pretoria has heard that former Defence minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s Bruma home underwent extensive luxury renovations, including gold-leaf ceilings, underfloor heating and custom-made home decorations. Interior decorator Nomsa Shabangu testified that she received about 1.7-million-rand in cash over several years for the renovations and furnishings, which the state alleges were funded with corruption proceeds. Mapisa-Nqakula has pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of corruption and one count of money laundering, and the trial continues.
