Government prepares to repatriate remains of South Africans who died in exile in Angola

# Deputy minister for Justice and Constitutional Development, Andries Nel, says government is undertaking preparatory work to repatriate the remains of South Africans who died in Angola between 1976 and 1992 in cases linked to apartheid-era political conflict. Nel provided an update on the Angola phase of the South Africa Exile Repatriation Project in Pretoria yesterday. He says the Exile Repatriation Project gives effect to the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which called on government to continue tracing people who disappeared in political circumstances between 1960 and 1994.
