# The International Trade Administration Commission has recommended extending safeguard duties on imported threaded iron and steel fasteners for a further three years. The move follows an investigation prompted by local manufacturers, who argued imports were harming the domestic industry. Itac found ending the duties could lead to renewed serious injury and said the local industry was adjusting. The proposed tariffs will gradually decline from 42-point-zero-four percent to 38-point-zero-four percent over the three-year period, subject to ministerial approval.
