# The civil movement Soil of Africa has expressed concern at the findings of the Human Rights Commission regarding severe wastewater pollution in the Eastern Cape. The commission found that Buffalo City’s West Bank wastewater treatment facility recorded E. coli about six-thousand times above safe limits, while Kouga Local Municipality failed to achieve sustained compliance at two wastewater treatment works. The movement’s spokesperson, Luzuko Sofute, says urgent intervention is required:
