# Union federation Cosatu has welcomed Andrea Johnson’s resignation as head of the Investigating Directorate against Corruption. President Cyril Ramaphosa has accepted her request to vacate office with immediate effect. Cosatu’s Matthew Parks says Johnson’s tenure became unsustainable after being accused before the Madlanga commission of failure to provide leadership at the directorate:

Meanwhile, Ramaphosa has assured the leadership and staff of the National Prosecuting Authority of government’s unwavering support for its work in the fight against crime and corruption after Johnson’s resignation.
