Ramaphosa to open Pan-African Parliament Session

# President Cyril Ramaphosa will today officially open the First Ordinary Session of the Seventh Pan-African Parliament at its headquarters in Midrand, Gauteng. The week-long session is being held under the African Union’s 2026 theme of ensuring sustainable water availability and safe sanitation. The gathering follows the election of the new Pan-African Parliament Bureau in April. It will focus on strengthening democratic governance, continental integration and advancing the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Ramaphosa is expected to also highlight the current immigration challenges.
