# South Africa’s annual consumer inflation rose to five-percent in June, up from 4.5-percent in May – the highest since June 2024 when it stood at 5.1-percent. Statistics South Africa says transport, housing, and utilities were the main contributors to the increase. The higher inflation rate reflects rising costs faced by households and businesses.
