Union condemns Parktonian Hotel over workers’ rights

# The Food and Allied Workers Union condemns what it describes as a continued attack on workers’ rights by the management of Parktonian Hotel in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. The union began protected strike action, accusing the hotel of unilaterally changing employees’ terms and conditions of employment. FAWU’s Edwin Mabowa says the dispute includes unpaid salary adjustments, discontinued benefit contributions, delayed salaries and changes to pay structures. Mabowa called on the public to boycott the hotel until the dispute is resolved.
