Nigeria completes evacuation of nearly 1,500 citizens from South Africa

# Nigeria has completed the evacuation of nearly one-thousand-500 of its citizens from South Africa following weeks of anti-immigrant unrest. The evacuations took place between 10 June and 15 July, as pressure mounted on undocumented foreign nationals to leave the country. Nigeria has condemned xenophobia and violence against foreign nationals but says it will continue engaging South Africa through diplomatic channels. Other African countries, including Uganda, Ghana and Mozambique, have also repatriated citizens in recent weeks.
