# Police in the North West have arrested 13 undocumented migrants during an unannounced Operation Shanela in Zeerust. The multidisciplinary operation involved the SAPS Anti-Gang Unit, the Illicit Mining Team and the Department of Home Affairs. The suspects, aged between 22 and 48, are nationals of Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They are expected to be processed under immigration laws. Police also recovered a sewing machine and a butcher’s knife reported as lost property.
