# Olympics: The International Olympic Committee has provisionally lifted the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee that had been in effect since 12 October 2023. This will allow Russian athletes to compete in some team events and qualifying competitions ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The ban on Russian flags and its national anthem at events remains.
